Human Rights

Imam Sadiq (A):

God Almighty revealed to one of His prophets in the land of one tyrant: Go to this oppressor and tell him I have not made you king for the sake of bloodshed and looting the properties of the people, but I have made you king only for the sake of protecting the rights of the oppressed from the oppressor. The oppression will not be forgiven even to a disbeliever”.

Iqab Al-A’mal p.621

It is stated in the hadith that God does not forgive the oppression even to a disbeliever. It is the same as human rights that oppression is not allowed on anyone and this has nothing to do with the believers and infidels, but no human being in the divine religion deserves oppression.

Of course, there are many narrations about human rights, and this hadith is just one example. At the same time, the atrocities committed by the caliphs in the name of Islam throughout history should not be attributed to the divine religion of Islam. It has granted the highest rights to all human beings and even animals.
